I am very honored to be part of a project taken on by some of the finest children’s photographers in the world called The Blog Carousel. Once a month a theme is chosen and each participating photographer creates a blog post based on her interpretation of the theme. This month’s theme is framed.
Framing is a technique a photographer may use to enhance the composition of a photograph in order to make it more visually appealing. Framing leads the viewer to the main subject of the image while also providing depth. Frames can be found in your home, something as simple as a window. In nature frames can be found in trees, architectural structures, landscapes, etc. Frames are everywhere if you look for them. Here are a few of my favorite images using frames.
Next stop on the blog carousel is the very talented Rebecca Mudrick. Please stop by to see her interpretation of the theme.

Beautiful work, Tara! That first one is so fun – love it!
Tara – these are really wonderful examples of framing! Beautiful!!
These are lovely examples of using the environment to frame your subject and really bring in the focus of the whole composition. Only a truly developed eye can bring this level of expertise to a session.
Oh! That first one is perfection! (Finally playground equipment that isn’t bright red or yellow! LOL) But I love all the expressions captured…it truly tells a story. The others are also beautiful examples of framing your subjects. Gorgeous.
Love these Tara! You are excellent at this technique!
I LOVE that first image….I can almost feel the circle spinning like in a funhouse! I LOVE that I can see mom’s face behind! Great job!
These are all so great. That bridge is perfection. And I LOVE playground tunnels for “framing”. Nice work.
I love these! That last one is spectacular under the bridge. Beautiful work!! I also love mom thrown out of focus behind her kids in the tube….my kids love that thing, and her expression is priceless!
What a stunning set of images, but I especially love the first. Very well done!
